Symptoms:
a copy of HFS+ for Windows by Paragon Software fails to be uninstalled via standard Windows tools; the software still appears on the program list; re-installation isn't possible when launching the installation file (only the Repair option is available).
Cause:
usually, the issue occurs when a system reboot wasn't performed after either installing or uninstalling the driver.
Solution:
Please download and launch the .exe file from the following archive as Admin:
https://dl.paragon-software.com/support/hfs/HFSCleaner.zip
(right-click the link → Save link as, if needed).
Wait till all necessary operations are performed, then reboot the PC when prompted. Please wait until that message appears. If you don't see the reboot prompt, it may take a few more minutes.
This action will uninstall the product.
Then delete these files from C:\Windows\system32\drivers:
- apmwin
- apmwinsrv
- csvol
- gpt_loader
- mounthlp
- hfsplus
- hfsplusrec
After that proceed again to Windows apps and features and uninstall HFS+ for Windows by Paragon Software again (if present on the list).
Then please try to re-install HFS+ for Windows by Paragon Software. Be sure to perform a restart after the installation.
