- If the problem appeared after updating the previous version, try uninstalling the software using the downloaded .DMG file, then reboot your Mac. Then install the driver once again and perform a reboot as prompted after installation.
Please refer to this article if you’re having problems uninstalling older NTFS for Mac versions. - If the problem appeared after macOS update, please reinstall the latest version. Usually it can be found on our site.
- Hard link reading and creation for files are supported in UFSD driver and created links are fully compatible with Windows platforms. Hard links for directories are not supported because it’s also not supported by Windows. In NTFS, only soft links can be used for directories. For more info see: Hard Links and Junctions
Attention! Don’t use the driver to mount and write on hibernated NTFS disks (such as Boot Camp Windows in hibernated mode)! Doing so may lead to data loss
If you have other NTFS drives, check them as well:
If only specific NTFS drives are affected
If the disk is not mounting, try disabling NTFS for Mac: NTFS for Mac - Preferences - Disable. This will make the system use built-in driver for mounting.
Reconnect the disk and check if it's mounted.
It makes sense to perform a file system check (see Using CHKDSK) before further troubleshooting.
If the disk is not detected by system, try disabling NTFS for Mac: NTFS for Mac - Preferences - Disable, then go to Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility. Don't forget to change View to Show all devices.
If the disk is not detected by Disk Utility, try connecting it using different cables/ports. If the device is connected through USB hub, try connecting it directly to your Mac.
If the problem persists, it might indicate a failing drive. We suggest you to contact the disk manufacturer for further support.
