If an NTFS drive is connected to macOS locally (via USB/SATA), you need NTFS for Mac to be able to write data to the NTFS partition. macOS itself can only Read data on local NTFS drives.
However, for accessing shared folder located on another PC (or NAS), you don't need any special drivers, as long as the device where it's shared from does support this file system.
You only need to check if the network is configured properly and if the shared folder has correct access permissions.
